The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that a nine-hour curfew will be imposed during the community quarantine in Metro Manila, which will be enforced beginning midnight of March 15 until April 14, subject to daily review.
The curfew in Metro Manila will be from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
There will be exceptions – e.g. workers, and those responsible for essential tasks (such as medical practitioners, food delivery people, etc).
Malls have also already been asked to close down temporarily during the lockdown.
But the MMDA assured that supermarkets/groceries, banks and other essential facilities will remain open.
The curfew order was made by the Metro Manila Council, which is composed of the region’s mayors. It comes after Malacanang issued the guidelines for the implementation of the lockdown.
