Established in 2007 (initially as ZEN), Zenutrients was founded when its then creator and his family suffered from skin asthma and psoriasis, and so – wanting for his family to be healthy – he developed a natural skin care alternative that made use of virgin coconut oil. This eventually expanded to include related lines, including soaps, massage oils, lotions, and yes, shampoos.
All Zenutrients products – which are handcrafted at the company’s production site in Barangay Kapitolyo in Pasig City in Metro Manila – make use of a lot of virgin coconut oil/coconut oil and various essential oils. The former is abundantly introduced because of its antioxidant effects that can help protect against free radicals; and its being loaded with Vitamin E and lauric acid to heal and repair damaged skin and hair, among others. The latter, meanwhile, have been used for millennia because of their healing properties.
There are 13 variants of the organic shampoos, including Aloe Vera, Bali Spa, Calamansi, Coconut; Green Tea, Gugo, Honey, Lemongrass, Moringa, Olive, Rosemary and Patchouli, Tea Tree, White Tea and Green Bamboo.
There are 11 variants of organic conditioners, including Aloe Vera, Calamansi, Green Tea, Gugo, Honey and Coconut, Lavender and Sheanut and Chocolate, and Tea Tree.
There are, by the way, milder versions: the Mild & Gentle Baby Shampoo, which is for the more delicate hair and scalp, washing mildly without overdrying; and the Gentle Baby Conditioner, which has calendula oil, virgin coconut oil and botanical extracts.
Worth noting is that unlike their commercial counterparts, the company’s formulation has a maximum of only 10 ingredients – this means less allergic reactions that could lead to scalp diseases and hair loss. It helps that these products wash off quickly and completely with any kind of water.
Their usage is basically the same as other – more commercial – shampoos and conditioners: Apply shampoo to wet hair and then massage uniformly with fingertips over the entire scalp. Rinse thoroughly. Conditioning is applied afterwards, and then similarly rinsed. These may be used daily, or at least often as needed.

The partnership is part of Crocs’ ongoing collaboration with local artists–those who embody the brand’s “Come As You Are” ethos. Last year, the brand teamed up with digital artists and illustrators Jethro Olba, Soleil Ignacio, Kim Borja, Isabel Weber, and Carriel Veloso (Tyang Karyel).
The worlds of music, fashion, and self-expression have converged in a new collaboration featuring some of the fastest rising musical artists in the Philippines as Lola Amour, Maki, and Jikamarie celebrate artistry and individuality as they team up with Crocs, the iconic footwear brand known for its commitment to individuality and comfort, to create a collection that embodies their unique styles and artistic visions.
