{"id":8810,"date":"2023-11-20T12:08:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-20T04:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/?p=8810"},"modified":"2023-11-20T12:08:02","modified_gmt":"2023-11-20T04:08:02","slug":"pru-life-uk-prudence-foundation-partner-with-assist-for-project-padayon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/pru-life-uk-prudence-foundation-partner-with-assist-for-project-padayon\/","title":{"rendered":"Pru Life UK, Prudence Foundation partner with ASSIST for Project Padayon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc in Asia and Africa, have joined hands with the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) for Project Padayon Bantayan Island.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project which is funded by Prudence\nFoundation\u2019s COVID-19 Recovery Grant aims to help uplift the lives of residents\nof Bantayan Island, Cebu through a series of community-based training and\ndevelopment programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been supporting the Bantayan Island\ncommunity for almost a decade now and we are happy to see how it has grown.\nWith Project Padayon, we are positive that it will bring transformative\nimprovements, enabling the residents to thrive in multiple aspects of their\nlives,\u2019\u2019 says Marc Fancy, Executive Director, Prudence Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Padayon will run from 11 July to 1 December\n2023 and include workshops focused on micro, small, and medium enterprises\n(MSMEs) empowerment, family health and nutrition, jobs and careers, disaster\nrisk preparedness, and climate change resilience. Participants will receive\nmodules that will be cascaded to up to 2,000 students and community members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful for the opportunity to partner\nonce more with Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation. This partnership aims to\nempower the residents of Bantayan Island through a comprehensive learning\nprogram that will touch on different topics like financial well-being, health,\nand disaster resilience to help them prepare for the future,\u2019\u2019 says Francis\nMacatulad, Executive Director, ASSIST. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will culminate with an appreciation\nand recognition program in December, followed by a <em>Pamaskong Handog<\/em> with\nHabitat for Humanity communities that Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation\nhelped build after typhoon Yolanda<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Transforming lives in Bantayan\nIsland<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project was launched at Beach Placid Resort\nin Santa Fe, Cebu and was attended by local government unit representatives and\ncommunity leaders of Bantayan Island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are happy to be back in Bantayan Island and\nsee familiar faces. At Pru Life UK, it is our mission to help Filipinos get the\nmost out of life. This project is a big opportunity for us to fulfill our\ncommitment to help Filipinos lead healthier and wealthier lives,\u2019\u2019 says Gizelle\nCamua, Vice President for Community Investment and Advocacy, Pru Life UK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Close to 100 micro-entrepreneurs joined a\nworkshop with the theme \u201cMSME Empowerment.\u201d Attendees received modules on\nbusiness management, finance, and digital marketing materials, which will also\nbe cascaded to 1,000 other micro-entrepreneurs. They also learned best\npractices from young local entrepreneurs that shared their real-life\nexperiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, over 80 mothers with their newborns\nwere given free PRUMedCare Select Infectious Disease coverage plan as part of\nthe PRUBabies campaign. The coverage offers cash assistance for diagnosis and\ndeath due to any of the four common types of infectious diseases: dengue,\ntyphoid, measles, and malaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Propelling impactful conversations<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Padayon is a continuing initiative rooted\nin Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation\u2019s commitment to developing Filipino\nlives through impactful conversations on the importance of financial literacy\nand health awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pru Life UK has been actively involved in aiding\nBantayan Island since 2013 by means of humanitarian initiatives, including\ngift-giving programs, the provision of essential food packages, and the\nestablishment of water supply networks alongside the deployment of portable\nultrasound machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same year, Pru Life UK and Prudence\nFoundation launched Build Better Now.
