According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, twenty eight percent (28%) or 17.3 million Filipinos are smokers. Today, the Philippines still has one of the highest per capita levels of tobacco consumption among the ASEAN countries, and this poses a major public health problem in the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, the Philippine government in partnership with private organizations have been working together to reduce tobacco use through awareness and education programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ending the\nHabit <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Johnson &\nJohnson Philippines, we walk the talk when it comes to enforcing good, healthy\nhabits, in order to quit smoking. Through a series of posters strategically\ndisplayed around the J&J Philippines campus, employees are reminded how\nNicorette can help them break free from smoking. This is just one of our\ninitiatives in making sure we help put a stop to smoking. Quit Smoking\nwith Nicorette<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from activities\nwithin the Johnson & Johnson Philippines campus, we are also making strides\nin advancing our goal in reducing tobacco usage in the country. Last year, in\ncelebration of World No Tobacco Day, Johnson & Johnson Philippines\nintroduced Nicorette to encourage more Filipino smokers to #JoinTheQuitters. Nicorette\nheld an online event anchored on the World Health Organization\u2019s campaign\n\u201cCommit to Quit\u201d to motivate Filipinos to permanently quit for good.  The event was streamed through Facebook live\nand was attended by over 700 people nationwide. Some participants were\n\u201cquitters\u201d who shared their quitting journeys and smokers who pledged to a\nhealthier lifestyle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
