Small was there in place of Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla who tested positive for COVID-19 again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Watch as Pfizer executive Janine Small admits to EU parliament that Pfizer did not test the vaccine for preventing transmission of Covid prior to it being made available to the public.<br><br>Small says, \u201cWe had to really move at the speed of science..we had to do everything at risk.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FvTn01zv3J\">pic.twitter.com\/FvTn01zv3J<\/a><\/p>\u2014 True North (@TrueNorthCentre) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TrueNorthCentre\/status\/1579830040858329089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 11, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>In the exchange that happened in the committee hearing, a\nDutch member of the European Parliament asked Small if there is evidence from Pfizer\nthat showed that the vaccine it developed would prevent transmission prior to\nits wide release in late 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWas the Pfizer COVID vaccine tested on stopping the\ntransmission of the virus before it entered the market? If not, please say it\nclearly. If yes, are you willing to share the data with this committee?\u201d the\nmember of parliament specifically asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The executive answered: \u201cRegarding the question around, did\nwe know about stopping immunization before it entered the market? No.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Small added that \u201cwe had to really move at the speed of\nscience to really understand what is taking place in the market. And from that\npoint of view, we had to do everything at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dutch politician said that messaging in the past focused\non getting vaccinated to one does not spread COVID-19. \u201cIf you don\u2019t get\nvaccinated, you\u2019re anti-social! This is what the Dutch prime minister and\nhealth minister told us. You don\u2019t get vaccinated just for yourself, but also\nfor others \u2014 you do it for all of society. That\u2019s what they said.
