In a recent survey Vestergaard found 48% of respondents would dine at outdoor restaurants, 42% would attend events at outdoor venues, 35% would shop at outside retail outlets and 33% would visit stadiums and sports fields that utilize PermaNet screen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe\u2019ve manufactured long lasting insecticidal bed nets with similar technology to prevent the spread of malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases in the developing world for more than 20 years,\u201d said CEO, Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen. \u201cThe appearance of the Zika virus in 2016 and the subsequent official CDC travel warning for Miami illustrated the need for protective measures here in the U.S.\u00a0 PermaNet\u00ae Screen provides a way for businesses to protect customers that want to spend more time outdoors and differentiate in competitive markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMosquitoes are not just a nuisance, they are a public health concern capable of spreading Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya and West Nile,&#8221; said Vestergaard, COO Zeb Portanova. \u00a0&#8220;PermaNet\u00ae Screen&#8217;s ability to kill mosquitoes <span id=\"yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-56\" class=\"yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr_ yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr_56 yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr-alert yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr_spell yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr_inline_cards yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-gr_disable_anim_appear yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-ContextualSpelling yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-ins-del yiv5004903930m_-8822246991522016130gmail-multiReplace\">bv<\/span> contact and provide protection for at least two years make it the ideal tool for protecting our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">PermaNet screen uses an innovative insecticide delivery mechanism to slowly release the insecticide deltamethrin to the surface of the screen. Deltamethrin is an insecticide approved by the World Health Organization for us on bednets. The deltamethrin is incorporated into the fibers that make up the screen and slowly migrates from inside the fiber to the outside surface of the screen so that, when a mosquito lands on the UV-protected screen, it touches the insecticide on the surface and dies.
