People try, with a few nips and tucks to their bodies and faces, but it doesn&#8217;t quell the aging happening within. Every birthday brings a new reminder that we are not as young as we used to be. Our muscles shrink, and our arms and legs feel heavier. Our eyesight and hearing deteriorate. Many older people experience bone decay with osteoporosis and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outpatient-spine-surgeon.com\/conditions-treatments\/cervical-conditions\/cervical-spondylotic-myelopathy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cervical spondylotic myelopathy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (spinal cord compression). For many, memory loss is a problem as well as depression and tiredness as we succumb to the knowledge our lives are changing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are some ways we can alleviate the inevitable onset of old age. Eating healthily, daily exercise and maintaining a positive attitude can slow down the changes aging brings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>BEGIN AN EXERCISE ROUTINE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we get older, we are less inclined to lift ourselves from the sofa. However, this inactivity is dangerous to our health. Heart disease, obesity, dementia, and type-2 diabetes are some of the possible effects of an inactive lifestyle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiredness will affect some of those things we enjoy doing, such as playing with our grandchildren or visiting friends. Simple things such as climbing the stairs will become a chore as our joints ache.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So maybe it is time to turn off the television and put that book down, no matter how gripping it is, and think about doing some <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nihseniorhealth.gov\/exerciseforolderadults\/healthbenefits\/01.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exercise<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you haven&#8217;t been active in a while, take things easy at first. Go for short walks, spend time working on your garden, and pace how many laps you do at the local swimming pool. Nobody expects you to run a marathon, but by building up your exercise routine, you will feel fitter and healthier over time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By taking up an active lifestyle, we will feel healthier and gain an extra spring in our step too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>EAT HEALTHIER<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No matter your age, healthy eating is always important. At an <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/health-dangers-you-must-be-aware-of-as-you-get-older\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">older age<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we need more of those essential nutrients and vitamins to strengthen our bodies and reduce high blood pressure. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be smart about your food choices. Read the nutrition labels on food packets to make sure they aren&#8217;t full of sugar and fat. Eat from all the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.primaryresources.co.uk\/science\/foodgroups.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">food groups<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, vegetables, fruit, cereal, meat, and dairy, to ensure your body gets all the protein, carbohydrates, etc. that it needs. Drink plenty of water as well, to keep you hydrated, especially when you begin to exercise more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>AND FINALLY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While your body inevitably slows down, don&#8217;t give up on the hobbies you have always enjoyed. Spend time with the people you love and make new friends where possible.
