The search for the latter led us to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BalayNgaBatoIloilo\/\">Cami\u00f1a Balay nga Bato in Iloilo<\/a>, which \u2013 while offering what we were looking for \u2013 is actually more than just a resto, but a historical gem that just happens to also offer culinary gems.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, how was the visit to Cami\u00f1a Balay nga Bato in Iloilo for us?<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@outragemag\/video\/7593560019275156756\" data-video-id=\"7593560019275156756\" style=\"max-width: 605px;min-width: 325px;\" >\n<section> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"@outragemag\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@outragemag?refer=embed\">@outragemag<\/a> Mixing history with <a title=\"tsokolatedebatirol\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/tsokolatedebatirol?refer=embed\">#tsokolatedebatirol<\/a> and <a title=\"pancitmolo\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/pancitmolo?refer=embed\">#pancitmolo<\/a> dring this <a title=\"lgbt\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/lgbt?refer=embed\">#LGBT<\/a> trip to <a title=\"iloilo\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/iloilo?refer=embed\">#Iloilo<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"\u266c original sound  - Outrage Magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/music\/original-sound-Outrage-Magazine-7593560091102694161?refer=embed\">\u266c original sound  &#8211; Outrage Magazine<\/a> <\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Una<\/em>, the place is quite far from the city, <em>huh<\/em>! It is accessible <em>naman<\/em>, since jeepneys travel to the area, and \u2013 for those with budget \u2013 Grab can take you there, too. But that we had a hard time getting a taxi to return downtown should tell you how far this place is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikalawa<\/em>, the actual place is historical. Designed by the first parish priest of Molo, Anselmo Avance\u00f1a, the house was built in 1865 for Don Fernando Avance\u00f1a and his wife Eulalia Abaja. Declared in 2015 as an Important Cultural Property by the National Museum of the Philippines, it is now a museum with a resto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikatlo<\/em>, the house can be toured for a fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For \u20b1150, you will be mandated to watch a video telling you of the history of the place, before being allowed to check the house itself. This tour will end in the resto, where you will be served with <em>tsokolate de batirol<\/em> and a bowl of <em>ugoy-ugoy<\/em> (a kind of layered biscuit topped with sugar). This is unli, so you can drink as much as you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For \u20b1220, you can add <em>pancit molo<\/em> to the food to be served to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ika-apat, kumusta ang<\/em> food?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prepared while we watched, the <em>tsokolate de batirol<\/em> was richly thick, though it was also milky and somewhat sweetish. <em>Hindi nakakasawa<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biscuits were good, ideal accompaniment to the <em>tsokolate de batirol<\/em>. They were crisp and yet, while disintegrating, weren\u2019t powdery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>pancit molo<\/em> was 50-50 for us. On one hand, the dumplings were prepared well <em>naman<\/em>, with enough meat wrapped in not-easily-disintegrating wrappers. But on the other hand, the soup was quite salty; and that\u2019s coming from us who are okay with salty food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there\u2019s a must-try in this place, it\u2019s their papaya slices and juice. Supposedly grown in a farm in nearby Guimaras, they are so sweet you\u2019d think they were sugared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter has-nested-images columns-default
