That it\u2019s hard to find good \u2013 and let\u2019s qualify this, affordable \u2013 Japanese restaurants in Metro Manila is a given. Too often we get sanitized venues that may claim to offer \u201cauthentic Japanese cuisine\u201d, but really just serve watery ramens or about-to-expire sushis or badly-prepared sashimis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One weekend, a chance visit to Tanay in the province of Rizal led us to this supposedly highly-recommended Japanese restaurant called Tanto<\/a>, and so we checked.<\/p>\n\n\n
