So <em>magbaon ng pasensiya at pera sa biyahe<\/em>\u2026 considering that,\nyes, you have to allocate more time and monetary allocation for the gas and\ntolls just to check this place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikalawa<\/em>, the actual resto isn\u2019t grand; it almost looks\nlike a <em>karinderya<\/em> in the province. But then again, it reminds me of the\nmicro and small entrepreneurs in rural parts of Thailand, where locals convert\ntheir houses into mini-restos for lunch and for dinner. Just don\u2019t expect much\nwhen here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikatlo<\/em>, the service people were nice (e.g. they\u2019d ask you if things are okay), but they were\u2026 slow (e.g. I had to approach sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And lastly\u2026 the food; how was it for us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The <em>Som Tam<\/em>\n(papaya salad, \u20b1120 for the solo serving) was \u2013 in a word \u2013 <em>malansa<\/em>\n(fishy). There are different ways to prepare this, with some adding shrimp\npaste (<em>bago\u00f3ng<\/em> <em>alam\u00e1ng<\/em>) or dried shrimps (<em>hibi<\/em>). But the\nversion of Som Thai Silang Bypass tasted like it used fermented fish (<em>bago\u00f3ng\nisd\u00e2<\/em>) from Pampanga. Now\u2026 if you\u2019re familiar with Pampanga\u2019s <em>bagoong<\/em>,\nyou\u2019d know what I mean when I say <em>malansa<\/em>.<\/li><li>The <em>Tom Yum<\/em>\nseafood (\u20b1291 for the solo serving) was, at least, <em>malasa<\/em> (tasty) and\ncontained lots of seafood.<\/li><li>The <em>Pad Thai<\/em>\nchicken (\u20b1249 for the solo serving) was\u2026 tasteless. This is sorta disappointing\nbecause when a Thai resto can\u2019t make a proper Pad Thai, you start to have\ndoubts re authenticity.<\/li><li>The <em>Mango Duo <\/em>(two\npieces of half-cut fresh spring rolls + mango sticky rice + garlic mayo and\npeanut sauce, \u20b1265) is a cheaper way to get spring rolls and dessert. Nothing\nspecial here, but the mango slices used were really sweet.<\/li><li>The <em>Chicken Satay<\/em>\n((with peanut sauce and vinegar, \u20b1210) was bland. We were anticipating red\ncurry (or massaman curry) or at least peanutty taste, but neither was noted.\nEven the peanut sauce did not taste peanutty.<\/li><li>Be warned that the\nservings here are small \u2013 i.e. when they say \u201csolo\u201d, they\u2019re serious in\nlimiting you from sharing.<\/li><li>Be warned, too, that\nsome Thai condiments \u2013 e.g. tamarind paste \u2013 aren\u2019t available. \u201c<em>Ubos na<\/em>,\u201d\nwe were told.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If there aren\u2019t other Thai restos in the area, Som Thai Silang Bypass should suffice. But this is Silang, a municipality in the Province of Cavite that has too many restos to count. So yeah\u2026 you can try if you want, and considering its limitations.
