Love motels are an open secret to us, and over the years, Victoria Court has been unveiling one themed room after another. You may have heard of their Squid Room suite at the height of the show\u2019s popularity (pandemic doom, we feel you) or their juicy and sweaty nudge to Filipino daily commute (and JAV chikan) with their MRT-inspired room. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who\u2019s been inside these themed suites\ncan attest that the beauty is in the details. From the Red Light, Green Light\nguns to the MRT train hand railings and color schemes, the rooms are designed accurately. <\/em>Maybe too<\/em> accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all, aren\u2019t guests the \u2018main character\u2019\nof their fantasies? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of getting into your main character\nera, who isn\u2019t planning a spicy, steamy<\/em>\nexperience this Valentine\u2019s Day? Whether we hide it or not, it\u2019s been a\nlong-standing tradition for Victoria Court to create an adult playground for\nlove and intimacy this time of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Court Owner Atticus King weighs in on\nhow they\u2019ve turned the drive-in motel chain\u2019s themed suites from ideas into\nguests\u2019 short-lived realities: \u201cI had a professor once say, a room is a room is\na room. With that in mind, we thought about how important it is to go beyond\nthat, we wanted to give them an experience they couldn\u2019t just get anywhere and\nthat would make a mental mark and become a core memory. \u201cRemember that time we\nwent to VC\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, how could one forget a rendezvous night\nspent with their partner trying to live happily ever after? Victoria Court\u2019s\nEver After room in Pasig can do just the trick. The room\u2019s jacuzzi is their\nbiggest one yet, and you can literally float on it without touching the sides\nof the tub. Talk about real happy endings, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019d also be surprised to know which themed\nrooms are well-suited to the Filipino\ntaste<\/em>. \u201cWe have the most number of suites in our Panorama Branch in Pasig.\nThere, our top 10 busiest rooms are CLOY, Chips, Squid Room, Oval Office,\nVenice, Bachelor\u2019s Pad, Moulin Rouge, Cirque, 50 Shades, and yes, Princess\nJasmine,\u201d Chief Operating Officer Sam Pineda reveals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re not here to gatekeep<\/em> on other steamy perks these rooms have to offer. \u201cAside\nfrom custom-built jacuzzis, we have rooms with playful additions like places to\nstrap folks in. Our Homerun and Casting Couch rooms in Pasig are good\nexamples,\u201d Pineda adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, behind each themed room is a story\nof how it came to be. \u201cIt\u2019s a combination of looking at what is trending, what\nis underserved, and what we think looks fun. When we built the Oval Office\nroom, my father [the late Archie King] said I\u2019d end up losing my visa because\nit was a replica of the Oval Office but my selling point was how often can you\nsay I\u2019ve partied in the Oval Office? The room was a hit when we launched it and\nI didn\u2019t lose my visa,\u201d King explains, laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how exactly does the motel chain decide\nwhich fandom or Netflix show will turn into the next themed suite? \u201cWe have\nseveral recipes but to be honest, sometimes themes we think will be a big hit\njust do okay and others that are okay do exceptionally well. We always listen\nto our guests and we try to design themes to make their crazy fantasies real,\u201d\nKing says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even then, Victoria Court has moved away from\nits public perception of being a mere \u2018biglang-liko\u2019\n<\/em>or place for illicit affairs to a hotel chain that hosts (wholesome)\nparties and offers an award-winning food menu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe bigger suites are typically what end\nup hosting parties (and some couple stays). For couple stays, we find that\nwhile some regulars have a favorite room, others prefer not to use a room\nthey\u2019ve already seen – and that\u2019s what\u2019s beautiful about it,\u201d Pineda explains.\n\u201cYou can choose or you can just go for any and be (pleasantly) surprised!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests, despite being discreet, aren\u2019t\nshy to offer a thought or two about these rooms. \u201cWe\u2019ve received great feedback\nfrom either camp, with some loving the variety, while others have a favorite\njacuzzi, enjoying the special effects, the tantra chair, or even something as\nsimple as preferring rooms with more mirrors.\u201d Pineda says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not all themed rooms are here to stay,\nthough. But some rooms are classics and crowd-favorites that guests will always\ncome back to now and then. \u201cWhen we see a certain theme starting to look dated,\nwe decide whether to reinvest to upgrade it or what we fondly like to call belo<\/em> and make it fresh again or we take\na vote on what new theme we can reintroduce.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But more than rooms to play out fantasies\nis a vision to create an adult Disney experience for King: \u201cI think our product\nwill continue to evolve to serve couples looking for an experience that will\nbring them right to the edge of their comfort zone and inject that feeling of\nadventure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
