Not only that, but 44% of Filipinos are planning to travel two to four times this year.<\/strong><a href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/sup><\/a><strong> At the same time, the Department of Tourism (DOT) is targeting to have 4.8 million tourist arrivals in the country this year, twice the number of visitors in 2022.<\/strong><a href=\"#_ftn2\"><strong>[2]<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means a lot of\npeople will be going in and out of the country. We can expect more crowds and\nbusier streets, especially during summer, which is one of the best times to\ntravel because of the holidays and school vacations. If you are one of those\nlooking to have an unstoppable year full of adventures, consider these four\neasy health tips:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drink vitamins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking vitamins\nregularly can supplement a healthy diet and lifestyle.<a href=\"#_ftn3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>\nThis is especially true for people going on vacation, who need to boost their\nimmunity before and during their trip. Immune-boosting supplements like\nvitamins C and D, zinc, and probiotics can be taken three to five days before a\ntrip and during<a href=\"#_ftn4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a> to\nhelp travelers stay in tip-top shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stay hydrated<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying hydrated is\nimportant all year round. Getting enough water prevents infections, brings\nnutrients to cells, and ensures that organs are working optimally. Aside from\nthese benefits, drinking the recommended amount of water each day is good for\ncognition, sleep quality, and mood.<a href=\"#_ftn5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a> The\namount of water needed per day varies per individual, but for the healthy ones,\nthe recommended amount of water that men should drink daily is 15.5 cups, and\n11.5 cups for women.<a href=\"#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drinking enough water\nbefore travel is recommended because flying can be dehydrating.<a href=\"#_ftn7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a>\nAirplanes are kept at 10 to 20% humidity, a lower rate compared to normal\nenvironments that range from 35 to 65%. Lower humidity leads to dehydration.<a href=\"#_ftn8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sleep well<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good sleep leads to\nimproved health, mood, immune system, and brain performance.<a href=\"#_ftn9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a>\nSeven to nine hours of continuous sleep is needed to feel refreshed.<a href=\"#_ftn10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a>\nMaintain good sleep habits days before a flight to have enough energy for the\ntrip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flying to countries\nwith the same time zone or with just an hour or two difference is easy. When\ntraveling across the world, it\u2019s important to adjust to the day-night cycle at\nthe destination.<a href=\"#_ftn11\"><sup>[11]<\/sup><\/a>\nStay up with the locals when the arrival time is during the day and sleep at\nnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Get vaccinated<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vacations expose\ntravelers to diseases, so timely immunizations through vaccinations are\ncrucial. The flu is one of the most common infectious diseases and it is\ncontagious. Each infected person can spread the disease to one or two more\npeople.<a href=\"#_ftn12\"><sup>[12]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preventive healthcare\nis still the best protection since people can catch the flu at any time of the\nyear.It\u2019s also important to get a shot annually since flu vaccines change\neach year to match the current viruses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of all, you wouldn\u2019t want to miss all the fun you have planned for your trip if you get sick.
