(PFGMI) held a roundtable discussion with the Consumer Protection Group of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-CPG) represented by its top official, Undersecretary Atty. Ruth B. Castelo and Trade Industry Development Specialist Ma. Kristina Guilas.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Filipino building\nmaterials manufacturers came together to advocate for \u201cBuild Lokal,\u201d a campaign\naimed at promoting the use of domestically produced goods and local labor in\nprivate and public sector construction projects. The group also expressed its\nfull support of the DTI\u2019s \u201cGo Lokal!\u201d initiative which provided the inspiration\nand stimulus for the Build Lokal campaign.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Build Lokal,\ndomestic manufacturers of building materials can help fully support the\nnation\u2019s economic recovery by continuing to generate Filipino jobs and reduce\nthe nation\u2019s unemployment rate, contributing to the national income through\ntaxes, conserving our foreign currency reserves, and ensuring that the\nmultiplier effect of supporting local businesses is fully taken advantage of.\nMoreover, prioritizing local manufacturers will nurture and grow local businesses\nthat invest in the manufacture of quality Filipino products.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local producers of\nbuilding materials make huge amounts of investment into building their brand through\nmodern equipment that produce high quality products.
