{"id":8331,"date":"2023-05-01T10:20:48","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T02:20:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/?p=8331"},"modified":"2023-05-01T10:20:49","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T02:20:49","slug":"watsons-now-offering-vaccination-services-in-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/watsons-now-offering-vaccination-services-in-store\/","title":{"rendered":"Watsons now offering vaccination services in-store"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, four million deaths are prevented by childhood vaccination every year.<\/strong><a href=\"#_ftn1\"><sup><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/sup><\/a><strong> The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted how important it is to be inoculated, and many updated their vaccinations to stay healthy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are more than\n25 safe and effective vaccines that can stop diseases, protect health, and\nmitigate outbreaks.<a href=\"#_ftn2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a>\nBelow are three diseases that can be prevented by vaccines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Influenza<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Influenza, or the flu, is a contagious\nrespiratory illness that infects the nose, throat, and even the lungs at any\ntime of the year.<a href=\"#_ftn3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>\nIt is marked by fevers, chills, coughing, a sore throat, a runny or stuffy\nnose, muscle or body aches, headaches, and fatigue. It is transmitted through\nclose contact with an infected person, or even touching objects contaminated by\nthe virus.<a href=\"#_ftn4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a>\nCompared to the common cold, the flu is worse and its symptoms are more\nintense.<a href=\"#_ftn5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a>\nIt causes mild to severe illness, and even death.<a href=\"#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a>\nUp to 650,000 people worldwide die from the flu each year.<a href=\"#_ftn7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the dominant flu strain\ncirculating the globe is Influenza A (H3N2) and it has been associated with\nmore severe flu seasons. Meanwhile, subtype H3N2 is known to cause more severe\nillnesses in young children and older adults.<a href=\"#_ftn8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pneumonia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pneumonia is a lung infection that causes\nthe air sacs to be filled with fluid or pus.<a href=\"#_ftn9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a>\nIts symptoms include coughing, fever, sweating, chills, shortness of breath,\nchest pain, loss of appetite, fatigue, and nausea and vomiting.<a href=\"#_ftn10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a>\nPneumonia is caused by a variety of factors such as viruses, bacteria, and\nfungi. It is the single largest infectious cause of death in children around\nthe world.<a href=\"#_ftn11\"><sup>[11]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Human Papillomavirus (HPV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, is one of\nthe most common sexually transmitted infections in the world.<a href=\"#_ftn12\"><sup>[12]<\/sup><\/a>\nThere are usually no symptoms and it goes away on its own, but the virus may\ncause painless growths or lumps around the genital area.<a href=\"#_ftn13\"><sup>[13]<\/sup><\/a>\nIt is usually transmitted via sex or skin-to-skin sexual contact with an\nindividual who has the virus. If untreated, HPV infections can cause cancer.<a href=\"#_ftn14\"><sup>[14]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Vaxx Office Campaign <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watsons continues to lead the way in\npromoting and providing access to holistic health and wellness solutions,\nexpert care and advice, and a platform for health literacy.
