{"id":7156,"date":"2021-06-02T10:24:59","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T02:24:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/?p=7156"},"modified":"2021-06-02T10:25:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-02T02:25:00","slug":"providing-access-to-srh-services-through-the-safety-pantry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/providing-access-to-srh-services-through-the-safety-pantry\/","title":{"rendered":"Providing access to SRH services through the Safety Pantry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sixteen (16) Safety Pantry have been launched\u00a0simultaneously\u00a0by Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) in different locations, as part of the International Day of Action for Women\u2019s Health.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the Covid19 pandemic continues to affect the lives of Filipinos, FPOP recognizes that the people\u2019s access to sexual and reproductive health and rights should be unhampered. Through the FPOP Safety Pantry, the organization aims to extend sexual and reproductive health services and commodities, and other necessities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the Safety Pantry tables, vitamins, condoms, lubes, contraceptive pills, alcohol wipes, sanitary napkins, malunggay supplements (capsule), baby dresses, diapers, and pregnancy and hygiene kits are available. People can also take home biscuits, rice, vegetables, canned goods, noodles, and even face shields and masks. Services on family planning, sexual and gender-based violence prevention, HIV testing and counselling, Hepatitis B screening, implant and IUD insertion, cervical cancer screening, and pre-natal check-up are also available.Standard safety protocols against Covid-19 were observed in the Safety Pantry sites located in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Barangay 32, Tondo, Manila<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Barangay Silangan, Quezon City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Baguio Public Market<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. T. Alonzo Street in Baguio City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Barangay Panamitan, Kawit in Cavite<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. Barangay Sta. Cruz, Naga in Camarines Sur<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. Sorsogon City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. Arakan in North Cotabato<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10.Barangay Dadiangas in General Santos City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11. Masbate City<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry, the items given away came from various donors who support the advocacy the organization pursues. Building on the same idea, FPOP opted to name the initiative as Safety Pantry as the word \u201csafety\u201d connotes a message of comfort and being safe and protected against sexually transmitted infection, HIV, unintended pregnancy, and sexual and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) is a service-oriented organization providing sexual and reproductive health services to all the Filipinos. It has 12 active organization chapters with 17 Community Health Care Clinics offering integrated package of essential services on family planning and reproductive health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FPOP is one of the oldest and biggest volunteer organization in the Philippines. It was founded on August 4, 1969, out of merger of two organizations that pioneered the family planning movement in the Philippines. It is a member association of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aside from various community activities such as the Safety Pantry, adolescent learning sessions, house-to-house outreach, and reproductive health medical missions, FPOP also provides&nbsp;<strong>free online consultation<\/strong>&nbsp;and other SRH services through their hotline called FPOP youRHotline.
