{"id":5386,"date":"2020-03-26T03:26:30","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T03:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/?p=5386"},"modified":"2020-03-26T03:26:32","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T03:26:32","slug":"lgus-shouldnt-impose-window-hours-for-buying-supplies-quarantine-passes-shouldnt-hinder-accessing-goods-dilg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/lgus-shouldnt-impose-window-hours-for-buying-supplies-quarantine-passes-shouldnt-hinder-accessing-goods-dilg\/","title":{"rendered":"LGUs shouldn&#8217;t impose &#8216;window hours&#8217; for buying supplies; quarantine passes shouldn&#8217;t hinder accessing goods  \u2014 DILG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Department Interior and Local Government (DILG), through Secretary Eduardo A\u00f1o, said that local government units (LGUs) are advised lift \u201cwindow hours\u201d for going to the market amid the Luzon-wide quarantine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m advising all LGUs to lift the so-called window hours for (going to market) or buying,\u201d A\u00f1o said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some LGUs imposed specific times, or &#8220;window hours&#8221;, when residents with quarantine passes are allowed to leave their houses to go out and buy supplies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But A\u00f1o said that setting hours for buying food at the market only results in clustering of people, defeating the call for &#8220;social distancing&#8221; (a.k.a. physical distancing, the term used for people to stay away from others by being at least six feet away from another person in public spaces).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DILG head said that \u201cit should be 12 hours, and observing strictly social distancing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\u00f1o similarly said that while quarantine passes can be good control measure, there is \u201cno hard rule\u201d on issuing the same.
