{"id":5333,"date":"2020-03-20T13:47:08","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T13:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/?p=5333"},"modified":"2020-03-20T13:52:37","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T13:52:37","slug":"4-covid-19-testing-kits-approved-by-fda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zestmag.com\/online\/4-covid-19-testing-kits-approved-by-fda\/","title":{"rendered":"4 COVID-19 testing kits approved by FDA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first four test kits to detect SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the pneumonia-like disease COVID-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the FDA stated that \u201cthese are PCR (polymerase chain reaction)-based reagent kits used in laboratories and not point-of-care or do-it-yourself kits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FDA is under the Department of Health (DOH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approved COVID-19 test kits for commercial use are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Nucleic acid detection kit, manufactured by Shanghai GenoeDx Biotech Co. Ltd.-Shanghai, China. It is distributed by S&amp;S Enterprise.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Novel coronavirus 2019 nucleic acid detection kit (fluorescence PCR method), manufactured by Beijing Applied Biological Technologies Co. Ltd. It is distributed by Sahar International.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>AllplexTM 2019-nCoV Assay, manufactured by Seegene Inc. \u2013 Seoul, South Korea. It is distributed by Endure Medical Inc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>SOLGENT DiaPlexQ Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Detection Kit, manufactured by Solgent Co. Ltd \u2013 3F, 32, Techno 6-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea.
