Rather, many elderly people are injured when they are trying to complete mundane tasks at home. This might be mowing the lawn or even lifting a heavy item. When you are young, you can do these things easily, so it\u2019s hard to let go of that idea. You might continue to complete these tasks long after your body is able to. Eventually, it will give in, and you could sustain a serious injury. Most people continue to complete these tasks themselves to avoid going into care. Sadly, the result is that many end up in care due to a permanent injury. But there is another option. While also suggesting that staying active could lead to health issues. However in this case we are talking about <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/healthbeat\/6-simple-steps-to-keep-your-mind-sharp-at-any-age\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">keeping the mind active<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not the body. Dementia is common in elderly people. However, it is more common in those who spend long periods doing nothing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, you should make sure you have activities through the day where you will be using your brain. Things like completing puzzles or crosswords are both valuable activities. You may also want to try writing about your past, putting your life on the page.
