I\u2019ve taken many trips in my time, and the issue of travel always comes up once we\u2019re settled into our hotels. How are we going to get around? Obviously, you want to see as much of the place<\/a> as possible when you\u2019re only visiting for a short time. They are plenty of ways to do this, but circumstances often dictate the best methods. Take a look at some of our hints to help you along the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

#1 Walk<\/b><\/p>\n

The most obvious way to get around is to walk. Obviously, this has its advantages and disadvantages. The best part is that you can enjoy the great outdoors and take your time to explore everything. However, if the places you want to visit aren\u2019t in the near vicinity, this isn\u2019t going to be very beneficial. Only you will know if walking is a valid option. <\/span><\/p>\n

#2 Cycle<\/b><\/p>\n

One of the very best ways to get around is to cycle. You can hook a bicycle up to the back of your car if you\u2019re going on a long road trip, or you can rent one from a foreign country if need be. This will give you an opportunity to explore more areas than you can by just walking. If you\u2019re visiting somewhere far from home, make sure you take the time to learn where cyclists are allowed to ride. Also, make sure your insurance will cover any potential damages abroad. It\u2019s a good idea to have <\/span>cycle claims<\/span><\/a> information to hand in case an incident occurs.<\/span><\/p>\n

#3 Take the bus<\/b><\/p>\n

Getting on the bus is an easy task, even if you don\u2019t speak the same language as the locals. What it does require, however, is lots and lots of preparation beforehand. You\u2019re going to need to know exactly what the routes are and what time they arrive at your location. You also need to have an idea of where to get off, or you could easily become lost. You can\u2019t get everywhere by bus, but it\u2019s definitely one of the most attractive options.<\/span><\/p>\n

#4 Taxi<\/b><\/p>\n

Taxis are amazing. They\u2019ll take you anywhere with very little fuss. What\u2019s not to like? Oh…the cost. Yes, taxis are incredibly efficient, but they\u2019re also anything but cost-effective. That\u2019s fine if you\u2019ve got money to burn, but if you haven\u2019t, you\u2019re going to need to figure something else out. If you can, try and save that taxi money for when you really need it. <\/span><\/p>\n

#5 Car<\/b><\/p>\n

Of course, if you\u2019re taking a long road trip, you\u2019ll have that car to hand. Ideally, you don\u2019t want to be using it while you\u2019re trying to relax. However, if you have to, it might be the best idea. If you\u2019re in a foreign country, an alternative might be to <\/span>rent a car<\/span><\/a>. This will give you more freedom than any of the ideas on our list, but it\u2019ll come at a cost. You\u2019ll also have to make sure you study the local road laws extensively. <\/span><\/p>\n
