You can find lots of stretches for both your upper and lower back, but don’t stop there. Often, the source of your pain can be from other muscles that are tight. A lot of lower back pain is caused by tight hip flexors, so consider stretching them as well. A tight chest can pull your shoulders forward and cause a rounding in the upper back, known as kyphosis. In this instance, stretching your chest can be a good way to relieve pain in the long run.

CORRECTIVE EXERCISES

All forms of back pain can be helped by some corrective exercises. These exercises will help build up strength and stop the pain from occurring. A lot of people assume that you need to strengthen your back because it’s too weak. A weak back leads to back pain, right? Well, this is correct in some instances, but not in others. Sometimes it can be weaker muscles that aren’t working and causing your back to overwork. My advice is to see a physician and diagnose your problem; then you can do the right corrective exercises. I suggest implementing them into your regular fitness routine for the best results.

Link: https://goo.gl/Lm47lp

THINK ABOUT SURGERY

There are loads of back conditions out there and many of them can’t be cured. It’s likely that you’ll have to deal with the problem throughout your life. Some people are okay with this, and will do their corrective stretches and exercises to minimize pain. However, for others, surgery is seen as the best option. Particularly if you have a serious issue like scoliosis or other spinal deformities. These days, you can get minimally invasive spine surgery to reduce recovery time and leave you with smaller scars. In some cases, this is the only way to deal with back pain once and for all.

MANTAIN GOOD POSTURE

A lot of back pain and discomfort is attributed to poor posture. People will arch their back and put too much pressure on their lumbar spine. There’s a tendency for use to round our shoulders which lead to lots of pain in your upper back and thoracic spine. Fixing bad posture can take a while, but it is achievable. You need to think about keeping your spine straight and standing/sitting tall. Keep your head up and your shoulder blades pinned back. One thing I was taught by a physical therapist was to associate posture with a color. So, whenever you see the color red, think about your posture and sit up straight.

Take all of the advice in this guide on board and you should be able to manage your pain better. It can take a while for you to be pain-free, but these things will help.

Living with back pain can be a real burden and make easy tasks a lot harder.
