But we noted that when you check lists of places for foodies, many of the same venues are mentioned\u2026 and one of those is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rebelbakehouse.ph\/\">Rebel Bakehouse<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We checked the branch right beside the Baguio Cathedral of Our Lady of Atonement, and\u2026 how was it for us?<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@outragemag\/video\/7619556875805216020\" data-video-id=\"7619556875805216020\" style=\"max-width: 605px;min-width: 325px;\" >\n<section> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"@outragemag\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@outragemag?refer=embed\">@outragemag<\/a> <a title=\"lgbt\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/lgbt?refer=embed\">#LGBT<\/a> checking <a title=\"rebelbakehouse\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/rebelbakehouse?refer=embed\">#RebelBakehouse<\/a> in <a title=\"baguio\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/baguio?refer=embed\">#Baguio<\/a> to ascertain if it&#39;s a good alternative to <a title=\"starbucks\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/starbucks?refer=embed\">#starbucks<\/a>, <a title=\"cbtl\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/cbtl?refer=embed\">#CBTL<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"\u266c original sound  - Outrage Magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/music\/original-sound-Outrage-Magazine-7619556906332211969?refer=embed\">\u266c original sound  &#8211; Outrage Magazine<\/a> <\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Una<\/em>, the place is tricky to find\u2026 at least for non-churchgoers. We actually thought it\u2019s in some street parallel to the church; instead, it\u2019s actually right inside the church\u2019s compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikalawa<\/em>, if there\u2019s a word to describe the venue, it\u2019s <em>maaliwalas<\/em> (airy). The venue is divided into spots \u2013 e.g. there\u2019s the upper floor, the inside, and the seats outside. Since Baguio City can still get cool, or even cold, open-air <em>din siya<\/em>, though this also means that flies from outside can (and do) enter the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ikatlo<\/em>, the workers are chill. If asked, they can elaborate on what\u2019s being offered; otherwise, if you don\u2019t engage with them, they\u2019re typical caf\u00e9 staff\u2026 there but not there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ika-apat<\/em>, how was the food? TBH, since we just came from a heavy meal, we just tried some of their breads and drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Classic Pain Au Chocolat (\u20b1150) and the Cinnamon Bun (\u20b1180) looked pretty, easily reminding me, personally, of breads in some bakery in Paris. But\u2026 taste-wise, they\u2019re not remarkable. We\u2019d go as far as saying that they both tasted the same\u2026 just like croissant. The dark chocolate inside the former was, at least, good; but the cinnamon was not even apparent in the latter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>kape <\/em>(\u20b1110), served black, was so-so. I \u2013 sadly \u2013 really can\u2019t even remember drinking it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re not sure the way to beat Starbucks or Coffee Bean &amp; Tea Leaf is to mimic them. Which is how being in Rebel Bakehouse felt like; as if we were in one of the international coffee chains\u2019 branches in Tagaytay. This isn\u2019t to say this is bad\u2026 even considering our misgivings with the breads and <em>kape<\/em>. After all, this is still an okay, and local, option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps if we visit again, if at all, we\u2019d try their meals <em>na<\/em>.
