The campaign, led by non-profit organization FundLife, invited participants across the country to complete 3.8 kilometers of movement each day over the entire month of March. This symbolic distance represents the daily struggles many girls must overcome just to reach school, access healthcare, or navigate public spaces safely. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Culminating on International Women\u2019s Day,\u00a0<em>Move for Equity<\/em>\u00a0asked the public to dedicate their steps to girls who are too often denied the freedom to move safely in their own communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driven by the rallying call to action&nbsp;<em>\u201cMove for Every Girl Who Can\u2019t,<\/em>\u201d and held in partnership with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.girlsgotthis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Girls Got This<\/a>&nbsp;and global athletic brand&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.on.com\/en-us\/explore\/right-to-run?srsltid=AfmBOorl1QQ79VxrBT4ZVC8notMHqdehs3eXz3kJEr-YXiLwGMWj89nN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ON Running<\/a>, participants were encouraged to align their physical efforts with a broader social purpose.&nbsp; In total, over 1,300 people joined the campaign, logging more than 130,000 kilometers in support of gender equality and girls\u2019 rights.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public runs in Tacloban and Makati, held on March 9, served as campaign highlights. In&nbsp;<strong>Tacloban City<\/strong>, more than<strong>&nbsp;150 individuals<\/strong>&nbsp;gathered at the historic&nbsp;<strong>Old Leyte Provincial Capitol,<\/strong>&nbsp;including students, youth leaders, civil society organizations, and local government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simultaneously, about&nbsp;<strong>480 runners<\/strong>&nbsp;took over&nbsp;<strong>Ayala Avenue&nbsp;<\/strong>in&nbsp;<strong>Makati City<\/strong>\u2014one of the country\u2019s busiest business districts, which became a platform for visibility and shared advocacy.&nbsp;<em>\u201cGirls are told where they can go, how to behave, and what they should aspire to,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;said Marko Kasic, Executive Director of FundLife.&nbsp;<em>\u201cMove for Equity is about challenging that narrative. We\u2019re not just running for visibility\u2014we\u2019re running toward a world where every girl is safe, supported, and seen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign was further amplified by 22 advocates and content creators, who shared their personal motivations on social media. Among them was Dana Lora, a strength and conditioning specialist and campaign ambassador, who completed the 3.8-kilometer challenge daily.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cEvery step I took was for the girls who still don\u2019t have the freedom to move without fear,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;said Lora.&nbsp;<em>\u201cMovement is more than exercise\u2014it\u2019s advocacy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2014, FundLife uses sport and education to create safe spaces for marginalized children.&nbsp; Through daily programming and its growing&nbsp;<strong>Move Series<\/strong>, which includes&nbsp;<strong>Move for Peace, Move for Life, Move for Equity<\/strong>, and the upcoming&nbsp;<strong>Move for Play&nbsp;<\/strong>in&nbsp;<strong>June 2025<\/strong>, the organization promotes inclusive, community-led action for long-term social change.&nbsp;<em>\u201cThis is not just about sport,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;Kasic added.<em>&nbsp;\u201cIt\u2019s about dignity, justice, and collective responsibility.
