Pru Life UK recently took part in recovery efforts for communities affected by typhoons and flooding in the Philippines and Thailand. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Philippines, Pru Life UK extended\nsupport to children and their families recently affected by Typhoon Kristine by\ncontributing Php 300,000 to Save the Children Philippines\u2019 emergency response initiatives.\nThe company also organised its in-kind donation drive for affected families in\nthe Bicol Region, distributing essentials through the Project Banyuhay relief\noperations of the Rotaract Clubs of Rotary International District 3820. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pru Life UK also joined Prudence\nFoundation\u2019s PRUVolunteers (PRUVols) Programme, bringing together employees\nfrom Prudential in Asia, Africa, and the United Kingdom to rebuild homes and\nrestore infrastructure for communities affected by severe flooding in Sukhothai\nProvince, Thailand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prudence Foundation, established in 2011\nas the community investment arm in Asia and Africa of Prudential plc, is\ncommitted to create better futures through initiatives that achieve\nsustainable, real-world impact and long-term resilience in the communities we\noperate in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through programmes like PRUVols, Prudence\nFoundation mobilises resources to provide meaningful support to communities\nwhile fostering collaboration across its regional network. This year\u2019s\nprogramme was in partnership with Prudential Thailand and the Foundation of\nOlder Persons Development (FOPDEV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pru Life UK employees including Kenneth\nLeyco, Rodel Caricativo, and Jerome Martillano, worked with regional volunteers\nto construct new homes, prepare drainage systems, and rebuild sanitation\nfacilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers also participated in cultural\nexchange activities with the local community, including basket-weaving and\ntraditional cooking workshops at Yang Sai Elementary School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week-long initiative concluded with the turnover of houses, where beneficiaries received the keys to their newly rebuilt homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenneth Leyco, a Senior Training\nSpecialist, described the experience as \u201clife-changing, happy, and fulfilling.\u201d\nHe shared, \u201cI learned so much, from\ncarpentry techniques to cultural insights. It was humbling to work alongside\npeople from diverse backgrounds, united by a common purpose. Seeing the\nbeneficiaries\u2019 joyful faces made every effort worthwhile<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This sentiment was echoed by Senior\nAccounting Specialist Rodel Caricativo, saying, \u201cParticipating in this programme was a meaningful way to give back and\nconnect with communities in need. It reinforced my belief that even small\ncontributions can make a big difference<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s PRUVolunteers Programme in\nThailand reflects the Prudence Foundation\u2019s mission of strengthening\ncommunities by ensuring our support is both impactful and sustainable. It is a\ntestament to its commitment in building community resilience and supporting\nvulnerable populations, particularly the elderly, who are often\ndisproportionately affected by such natural disasters and climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
