Protect Your Skin In The Sun

Too many people increase the chances of getting cancer by not protecting their skin from the sun’s rays. If you allow yourself to get sunburnt, you put yourself at risk of getting skin cancer. To reduce this, you need to wear lots of suncream with a high SPF protection. Try and stay out of the sun as well, don’t stand in it all day long. Staying on the topic of skincare, you need to avoid things like sunbeds. Sunbeds are really bad for your skin and can also increase the risk of cancer.

Stop Smoking

There are no health & wellness benefits of smoking, period. It’s one of the main things linked to cancer, and by partaking in this nasty habit, you will increase your chances of developing cancer. Smoking does a lot of bad stuff to your body, including damaging your immune system. People that undergo cancer therapy are often injected with things to try and stimulate their immune system as it’s broken down. This is what enables cancer cells to grow as you don’t have anything fighting it. If you stop smoking, you will prevent your immune system from breaking down, and you will greatly lower the risk of cancer.

Drink Less Alcohol

Much like smoking, drinking alcohol has many direct links to cancer. The more you drink, the more at risk your body is of developing this horrific disease. Ideally, you should try and drink no more than the guideline amount of units for a man/woman. These are normally found on alcohol bottles so you know how much you should limit yourself to per week. When you regularly exceed this limit, you put yourself in the danger zone.

Avoid Processed, Unhealthy, and Unnatural Foods

People that eat a healthy, balanced, diet are far less likely to develop cancer than those that don’t. Contrary to popular belief, there aren’t any foods that will categorically help you avoid cancer. However, there is a whole host of foods that can increase your risk. Things such as fast food, processed food, and stuff that’s fried in a lot of oil, will all contribute to raising the chances of getting cancer. The solution is simple; avoid these foods and eat a healthy diet. Try and get as much fruit in your body as you can, control your portion sizes, and stop frying your food in lots of bad oils.

Please take all of this advice on board if you want to reduce the chances of developing cancer. Don’t let this horrible disease ruin your life and the lives of your loved ones. Prevent it from occurring as much as you can.
